Things for 2026
Hey!
It's been a while, hasn't it?
I started publishing lost word, my first story I've ever drafted and managed to get anywhere, really. I've been working on it, even if I haven't published anything in a while! Chapter 2 and 3 are probably the biggest changes plot wise, and I hope you can enjoy them once they're out. I haven't finished them as a whole, but I plan on publishing a larger chunk once I finish revising the notes my test reader handed me back recently. Lots of interesting things happen to the protagonists...
I've also been working on two new stories recently: A lost world sequel I want to start after lost world is finished(duh), and a draft for a queer underground kind of thing, inspired by a few experiences I've gathered over the years(including myself, possibly?????)
Lost world continuation project thing
Alright, let's start with the sequel first. From what I've laid out right now, It's going to end with around 6-8 chapters, after which the story expands to a broader scale, including different tales that have formed after a catastrophe. I've been wanting to do some large scale worldbuilding for a while, and I think the general plot of what lead into lost world and what comes after is a great way to do that.
There's lots of hints in the upcoming chapters about that stuff, but I'm drafting a continent where everything takes place on. I want to take it into a kind of optimistic solarpunk-y direction, where people finally find together to create a world they want to see after a series of tragedies. I'm not that far in, but I've been putting a focus on technology and cities. The draft of the "capital" has multiple floors with different biomes and all kinds of things(posthumans are a larger group of different humanoid species, after all!)
Queer draft doohickey
I've been wanting to write something queer after I stopped writing other side. I'm sorry for not continuing that, but I made the mistake of overplanning and trying to stretch it in a weird way to the point where I just couldn't work on it anymore. So I started drafting a new story a while ago. This one is likely to take a darker turn, because I want to focus on closeted people a little more. It's likely going to have an enby main character which tries to get through life and. yeah. (And some romance, possibly.)
Technical Notes(the nerdy stuff ✨)
I've redesigned and rewritten lost world's blog a few times this year, and also started posting on ao3 and hosting raw markdown and epub for people to be able to read it on their ereaders and all kinds of things.
With the publication of this blog post, I've also pushed a revamp of my main site. I've added a little list of my writing projects on the main page I plan to expand, and also fixed light mode(finally), along with some other things.
I still need to design a proper favicon and logo set for lavenderdream in general. I'm also moving my infrastructure because a hosting thing I had going on expired. Lost worlds and this site are on cloudflare pages for the meantime, and my forge is down for the moment. Sorry. I'm going to put things up on codeberg whenever I have time, in case you're interested in source code.
Conclusion
Lots of things happened in 2025, but I finally got to do something I've been wanting to do for a while, write a whole story! I'm hoping to do more of it in 2026, and just also be more active in regards to creative stuff and this blog in general.
